2017-2018 Dress Code

Howard Hall Classical Student Dress Code Guidelines

  • A belt must be worn if there are belt loops in the clothing.
  • Undershirts must be solid white.
  • Students cannot wear bell-bottom, hip huggers, zip off, sagging or drawstring style pants.
  • Winter jackets/coats/hats/gloves may be worn to and from school. They may not be worn inside the building because they are not. part of the dress code. They may contain logos.
  • Attire must be neat, clean, and in good repair. “Sagging” or “bagging” of clothes is not permitted.
  • Overalls (long or short) may not be worn.
  • Bandanas/headbands/wristbands/sweatbands, etc. may not be worn. A hair band may be worn.
  • Blue jeans and clothing made of denim fabric may not be worn.
  • Sunglasses may not be worn inside the building.
  • Shorts/skirts/skorts/jumpers must pass the fingertip test in length.
  • Any questions regarding attire should be discussed with your child’s teacher.
  • Team and/or club T-Shirts may be worn on any given day as part of the dress code.

Shirts – Forest Green, white, navy, yellow, or light blue polo style, oxford style dress shirt, or turtleneck. Shirttails must be tucked in at all times.

Slacks/Shorts – Khaki, navy, or black – Students must wear belts if their clothing contains belt loops. Slacks must be straight legged and ankle length. Shorts must be straight legged and knee length.

Jumpers/Capri Pants – Khaki, navy, or black- Students must wear belts if their clothing contain belt loops.

Shoes – Must be solid black, brown, or white (dress, casual, or tennis): toes, heels, and sides must be completely enclosed. Sandals are not permitted. Boots are allowed. Platform shoes are not allowed. Heels should be no higher than 1″.

Socks – Must be solid white, navy, brown, or black and must be over the ankle.

Shoelaces – Must match the shoe color.

Sweaters – White or navy pullover crew neck, v-neck, or cardigan. Sweatshirts may be worn. NO hooded sweaters are permitted to be worn in the building.

Blazers –  Must be navy or tan in color.

Belts – Must be black or brown in color.

Tights – Must be solid (no patterns) white, navy, brown, or black
